Bring your Minolta Hi-Matic E into the modern day with a battery adapter and focus lever (Battery Included!!). Pick the lever position for your hand and style and find your focus fast. Press fit the lever onto the existing focus ring, load the battery and you’re done! No disassembly required.
Some tips for adjusting the position and attachment. Focus all the way to the stop (either near or far) before deciding on your position. Also, there’s a little silver tab right before the focus ring. Make sure one side of the focus lever ring is beneath that silver tab before slipping the other side over the lens.
The original batteries for this camera were 1.4V, not the modern 1.5V. You may have to compensate the ISO to precisely match your film with these new Lithium batteries.
Note from the untaken photos: I enjoy shooting with the Hi-Matic. Simple 35mm rangefinder with a 40mm lens (my favorite) and full-automatic mode. It’s got some quirks, but all it really needed was a focus lever and a battery adapter. Before I made this lever, I would get my hand in the way when taking portraits, or focus too slowly during rapidly changing scenes. Now I, and you, can put a focus lever on this beautiful camera.
